Container for transporting wine and fish preserves ascribable to a Central Tyrrhenian production. Common in Italy, Gaul,

Spain. The one on display is of central-italic manufacture.

16. Lamboglia 2 amphora

second half 1^st c. A.D.

Container for transporting wine ascribable to an Apulian production or, at least, to an Adriatic one. Widespread from the Adriatic sea to the Black sea and in the Western Mediterranean (Etruria, Liguria, Gaul, Carthage).

17. Dressel 2/4 amphora

mid 1^st c. B.C. – end 1^st c. A. D.

Container for transporting wine from Campania, Latium and

Etruria, but also from Istria, Apulia, Calabria, Spain, Gaul and perhaps Britannia too. Common across all of the known world in antiquity: some examples are reported also in India and Ceylon

Container for transporting wine and fish preserves ascribable to production centres located in Spain, Campania, and perhaps also in Eruruia. Common in Italy, Gaul, Spain. The one on display is Campanian.
